Sukho Thai Phoenix Marketcity Pune Review by Blogger June Biswas

I’ve been to a lot of spas around the city but had never visited Sukho Thai though I had heard of it for many years from my Bombay days. So last weekend, after a night of wining, dining and lots of dancing, I decided to treat my feet to some TLC at Sukho Thai Foot Spa at Phoenix MarketCity Pune and was transported to foot heaven. For those of you who don’t know about it, Sukho Thai is the first international foot massage spa chain in India which started in Mumbai 6 years ago and now has a presence in Pune and Goa too

As I entered the spa, I noticed the sharp contrast from the bright and bustling mall to the dimly lit and tranquil environment of the Spa. The spa is done up in a tasteful manner and makes you feel calm and relaxed from the moment you enter it with soothing music playing in the background and the fragrance of aromatherapy oils. The therapy here is different from traditional spas, so you don’t need to undress and they don’t slather oil all over your body. Besides the leg and foot part, the rest of the body is treated with a dry massage and the whole therapy takes place on a reclining chair. You can even get a treatment done with a friend or your beau so you can both enjoy the experience side by side!

I went for the foot massage with back, shoulders and head. To start with, the therapist brought a vessel of hot water and petals using which she cleansed and sanitized my feet. After this, I had to soak my feet in the water and she washed them with liquid soap to cleanse them. This was followed by a gentle massage to open up the joints and relax them. The next step consisted of an oil massage from knees to my feet in firm strokes with a focus on all the right pressure points to relax the body. She paid great attention to detail and spent a lot of time on each leg and foot, ensuring that every pressure point was emphasized upon. Using different Thai moves, she hit all the right points to un-knot all my muscle points. She also used a small stick to put pressure on certain points on my sole and the effect was immediate and so relaxing. In the end of the foot massage, she used some aromatic powder on my legs and feet which I’m guessing was to absorb all the oil and cream from my skin. My legs were then wrapped with a dry towel followed by a dry massage to my full legs, back, shoulder and head. After the foot massage, she started with stretching my legs, shoulders and back along with a detailed massage on each area. Your limbs will be pulled, stretched and kneaded till you feel like you’ve been through a workout session, not a spa but it’s so super relaxing!

I walked out fully relaxed and energized and absolutely loved the experience and am definitely going back to Sukho Thai real soon! If you have never gone for a foot massage before, I recommend you to try it. It’s so relaxing and blissful because the therapists are trained to work wonders on your feet, massaging the right pressure points, alleviating knots allowing for complete detoxification of the mind, body and soul. The best part right now is that SukhoThai is celebrating it’s 6th Anniversary on 5th Sept 2016 and till then, they are giving a buy one get one free offer on all therapies above 90 minutes! So what are you waiting for? Hurry up and avail this offer and take yourself to foot heaven!
