\r\nEarlier\r\nthis week, I headed for a 60-minute massage at Sukho Thai in South\r\nMumbai. I had done a lower body workout that morning, so I knew my\r\nlegs could do with some R&R.

The\r\nserene atmosphere in the reception area helped me forget the chaos\r\noutside. After I changed into super-duper comfy pyjama set (I wanted\r\nto steal it!), the masseur led me into the massage area.

\r\n

\r\nWith\r\ncalming music and dim lights, I eased into the massage chair, and\r\nleft everything into the hands of my very skilled masseur.

\r\n

\r\nThe\r\nmassage began with a foot soak in lukewarm water. Then as the masseur\r\nworked his magic hands with oil on my feet, ankles, calves and shins\r\nI felt the tension melt away.

\r\n

\r\nNext\r\nhe pressed the right spots to release my quads and stretched my legs\r\nto open the hip muscles and hamstrings (we all have tightness here\r\nbut don’t know it).

\r\n

\r\nThen\r\nwe moved to the upper body. The masseur hit the right spots pretty\r\nhard to ease out my neck area, stiff due to my weight training and\r\nlong laptop hours.

\r\n\r\n\r\n

\r\nThen\r\nthe masseur guided me through shoulder and back stretches, which were\r\npretty intense. For people not used to yoga or deep stretches, it\r\ncould be bit of a surprise (I didn’t have any issues though).

\r\n

\r\nAnd\r\nthen, it was all over. I enjoyed the last few moments of the\r\ndelightful Sukho Thai experience with a bowl of fresh fruit and\r\nginger tea. I left super-charged to take on the rest of the day.

\r\nFor\r\nme, the real test of a massage is how well I sleep and how I feel the\r\nnext morning. The massage at Sukho Thai passed my test with flying\r\ncolours. I slept soundly and woke up without any stiffness. After a\r\ncardio and abs workout the following day, I left the gym feeling like\r\nI hadn’t worked out at all. As I write this, I feel more energized\r\nthan I have in months.

\r\nLast\r\nSunday, I decided to pamper myself to a foot spa. Now if you’ve\r\nbeen reading my blog, you know that I’ve tried the Thai Traditional\r\nFoot Massage at Sukho Thai Versova before. This time round, I was\r\ninvited by the High Street Phoenix’s branch to try their Herbal bun\r\nfoot massage. A few months ago, I had read somewhere that a\r\nmassage, using an herbal bun helps to discharge muscles and unblock\r\nthe vitality stream. The use of steam heated herbals is an effective\r\nadd-on to traditional massage therapies.

\r\n

\r\nWhen\r\nI reached, the staff at Sukho Thai (High Street Phoenix) were very\r\nfriendly. They got me inside the spa. It was dimly lit (hence, the\r\nslightly dark photographs) but it was necessary for the ambience. I\r\nwas made to feel relaxed.

\r\n\r\n\r\n

\r\nJust\r\nlike their other services, the herbal bun massage first starts off\r\nwith a thorough cleansing of the feet. The therapist then took a\r\npleasantly scented oil and started to massage right from the toes to\r\nthe knees in firm strokes with a focus on all the right pressure\r\npoints. I was happy that she paid attention to the right pressure\r\npoints and it was indeed relaxing. The therapist kept checking if I\r\nwas comfortable and if the pressure was alright. I was quite happy\r\nwith the massage for both my legs. The massage for both legs lasted\r\nfor about 20 minutes.

\r\nPost\r\nthat, the therapist brought in a special bun which consists of 23\r\naromatic and therapeutic herbs. The herbs are said to have an\r\ninvigorating effect stimulating the senses. As the pores open during\r\nthe herbal foot massage, it cures ailments such as pain, stiff, sore\r\nor pulled muscles and ligaments, back pain, migraines and arthritis.\r\nIt also improves circulation of blood and stimulates the internal\r\norgans. The therapist placed the herbal bun on the sole of my feet,\r\ncalves and thighs. She pressed on for 2-3 minutes each. It was a bit\r\nhot initially but it really felt as if all my stress and pain was\r\nbeing cured. The hot bun was applied throughout both the legs. This\r\nlasted for another 15-20 minutes. Overall, it was very relaxing.

What\r\nI liked about the massage:

\r\n1)\r\nIt was extremely relaxing. I almost fell asleep!
\r\n2) It’s great\r\nfor the blood flow and circulation.
\r\n3) The therapist kept\r\nchecking on me to see if the pressure is correct.
\r\n4) The fruits\r\n& hot herbal tea at the end of the massage were rejuvenating.
\r\n5)\r\nI think I looked so much more refreshed after the massage!

What\r\nI think can be improved:

\r\n1)\r\nI remember for the Thai Traditional Massage, I got a 20 minute back &\r\nshoulder massage too. Missed that, this time.

After a long week of grueling workouts, and hours in front of the computer, the only thing that perks me up is usually a massage. I love massages; I could go for one weekly, and still never get tired of the whole routine. I usually opt for deep tissue massages, to really work those kinks out, or a hot stone here and there.

This week, I tried something completely different, which opened up a new avenue of massage possibilities for me.

I went to Sukho Thai, in Turner Road, Mumbai, for the 90 minutes massage, which is a 45-minute foot massage, followed by a dry head, back, and shoulder massage for another 45 minutes.

The concept of Sukho Thai is fabulous; I have never experienced anything like it. It’s super dark, and there are thin dividers in between the massage chairs, you can still see everyone – unlike other spas, where you usually have your own room. Right from when you enter, they try to get you to relax completely.

They whisk your shoes away, and hand you their own. They lead you to the changing room, and instead of the plastic underwear so synonymous with spas, they give you loose cotton trousers, which are breathable, lightweight, and all I ever want to sleep in, and a loose shirt, which are sourced from Thailand, and especially designed for this experience.

Your therapist then leads you to your chair, where you experience 45 minutes of complete, unadulterated bliss. The foot massage includes liberal use of balms and oils, which the therapists rub into your skin, and then your legs (up to your knee) and wrapped into towels, to allow the balms to soak in and do their job.

What follows, is a fabulous, fabulous Thai massage for the back head and shoulder. This is a dry massage, which means no oil or cream is used, but it is the most relaxing thing ever, as they use a combination of pressure and stretches to relieve you of any pain, and to get the knots out.

At the end of the 90 minutes, during which I succumbed to a couple of naps, I was revitalized and ready to wear my highest heels! But the pampering isn’t over; they give you a delicious fruit platter, with the freshest, sweetest fruits (hello, watermelon), and some spicy ginger tea!

FEET – Usually they are only two hardly noticed Body Parts of our everyday life. Even if we do not have them in view (presumably because they are the furthest distant parts away from our eyes), they still play a Very important day-to-day role!

FACT: Our feet are a true masterpiece of evolution: it can hold up to a ton of weight! Did you know that our feet will carry us approximately three times around the world in the course of our lives, and we go between 8,000 and 11,000 steps a day?

In view of such figures, I find that our feet have earned loving attention and regular care. A beautiful foot bath, a small massage, careful nail cutting and soothing natural care products – regularly applied, have a real miracle.

Regular running around, long shoot hours and daily Chores get my feet SORE and TIRED, that’s why Last Saturday I decided to give them 60 mins of well-deserved Pamper !!!

I visited one of the most Trusted and spoken about SUKHO THAI SPA. It was my 1st time in this spa, but the choice was easy to make because of all the amazing reviews and the great option of choosing my preferred outlet close to my home.

As I reached, I was welcomed with lot of warmth by the staff , a steaming cup of Jasmine green tea and the whole ambiance instantly induced a sense of tranquility (defiantly the soft music , dim candle lit rooms and the lemongrass aroma).

As I quickly changed into their special culottes (knee – length Palazzo) from Thailand , I was guided to my chair and opted for SUKHO THAI’s new FOOT MASSAGE WITH SCRUB, soon my massage started off with light reflexology.

My exhausted feet were 1st scrubbed with Apricot and lotus scrub for about 20 mins, then followed with a hot Towel wrap Reflexology.

Next , the scrub was removed with dipping my feet in rose water and light massage , my feet already felt relaxed and rejuvenated , especially after the warm towel wrap.

Next up was the hot aroma oil massage along with stick Acupressure – The massage was very relaxing which lasted for about 30 mins, the masseuse specially concentrated on the pressure points, and I did feel pain initially in the areas I didn’t realize were sore, but as he progressed with the massage, the pain vanished and my feet felt well rested and ready to take on the world

I have been to a lot of spas, but trust me SUKHO THAI is defiantly one of the best by far. The beautiful hospitality, tranquil ambiance and a well-trained Masseuse gives it a 9 out of 10 in my Radar.

Themso then put some oil and massaged both the legs, while using acupuncture to highlight the pressure points. The massage made me fall half asleep. Then he put a pillow between my legs and massaged from the thighs to the heels. The best part is once we were done with the legs, he made me sit on a stool and massaged my back, head, hands and neck… it took all my stress away! Even though it’s called a foot massage, it included a nice back massage too and was totally worth the one hour.

Not only that, after the massage, they served some piping hot and yummy ginger tea and fresh fruits. So, if you’re having a particularly hectic week at work, head to Sukho Thai for a relaxing evening, like I did. You can ask for Themso, even though I’m pretty sure all the therapists are equally skilled. You won’t regret it.

Impressively, there was not much waiting time. I was brought inside by my therapist, Luno. The ambiance was soothing, thanks to the soft, dim lights, calm music and a nice scented aroma. The spa was extremely clean and hygienic, which was a big deal for me. And Sukho Thai therapists are very cautious when it comes to cleanliness and comfort. Luno really made me feel relaxed and was absolutely friendly.

The massage began with a gentle cleansing of my feet with warm water. Post which, Luno started the actual oil massage. He did a brilliant job using techniques that were brought together to stimulate circulations and ease tensions of my feet, ankles, calves and knees. This lasted for approximately 30 minutes.

My legs were then wrapped inside a hot dry towel and Luno massaged my entire legs right from my toes till my thighs for another 15 minutes. I think I fell asleep because the massage was so good. But that’s not all! There was also a dry back, shoulder, neck and head massage for around 10-15 minutes. This came as a lovely surprise as I didn’t expect anything more than a foot massage. But like I said earlier, I really needed this relaxation!! In fact, the entire session left me feeling rejuvenated and relieved all the stress from my mind and body. To top it all, post the massage, I was served a cup of hot ginger tea and fresh fruits.

My Experience with Sukho Thai

So I opted to experience the Service at the Andheri, Versova Outlet of Sukho Thai. Just as I stepped inside the Spa, I was greeted with warm and smiling faces of the staff. The ambiance was just perfect : with the fresh lemongrass fragrance engulfing me along with soft calming music playing in the background. I then and there knew the next 60 minutes of spa session was going to be a wonderful experience.

I was then asked to slip into comfortable slippers, and change into some comfortable top and pants provided by them so that I could be comfortable during my massage.

I am quite lazy to get any kind of spa done, but i now realise Spas really help in calming you down and it is also a way of maintaining hygiene especially in monsoon.

EXPERIENCE AT SUKHO THAI

Ambience: When i reached Suko Thai.. i felt at peace.. their ambience is so soothing and calm..low light setting with thai aroma fragrance all around.. made me feel relaxed. Unfortunately due to low light setting i couldn’t really take good pictures.

Procedure: When i reached there.. they gave me garments to change and a bamboo slip on (looked liked Osho Slippers). I was then taken to their spa section. They have huge recliner chairs where i was made to sit. Suko Thai has various foot and body massage therapies.

I opted for their traditional foot massage:

Duration: 1hr

Price: Rs 1890 inclusive of all taxes

Firstly they washed my legs with warm water infused with rose petals. The therapist then cleaned my foot with herbal liquid soap. After which my legs, foot and calf muscles were massaged with a herbal cream for around 15 mins, followed by thai accupressure treatment for 20 mins . The therapist used a long stick made of stone to activate all pressure points of legs and foot. I literally slept off during the treatment as it was so relaxing. I could actually feel all tiredness and fatigue being driven away. After the treatment my legs were wrapped in warm towel. Finally i was given a nice back and head massage for nearly 20 mins. The massage helped in removing all stiffness due to muscle tension. At the end of the massage i was served some ginger tea and fruits to improve blood circulation.

Staff: The staff was very good and well trained in giving the treatment/ therapy.

Final Recommendation: They have various therapies that can opted as per one’s requirement and need. I personally enjoyed the traditional foot spa therapy. I will suggest all my followers to go and get a massage from Suko Thai. I am personally wanting to try out their other therapies.

Well, we all do right! And i was lucky enough to be invited by Sukho Thai to experience their foot massage service at the Bandra branch.

As you all know by now, along with being a beauty blogger & you tuber i am also a full time working mom. So you can imagine how hectic my life is!!

I highly believe that in spite of how hectic our work or personal life is, we all need a little special-me-time to pamper ourselves. This revives our mind & body from the stressful life we all live nowadays. And sukho thai is a perfect place for this……Believe me I left the spa with the most ecstatic & blissful feeling:)

Finally let’s talk about my Sukho Thai experience:

The moment I entered Sukho Thai i was attended immediately. Their ambiance was very soothing and calm, with low dim light setting, thai lemon grass aroma fragrance all around & soft Chinese music( like u hear in old chinese movies)

They gave me a pair of slip-on Sukho Thai slippers & loose pants to change in. My personal belongings were kept carefully in a bamboo basket. The helper escorted me to a room which had recliner chairs. I was given a comforting blanket & cushions.

Firstly the therapist brought a huge bowl of warm water. He then washed my feet with herbal liquid soap & patted them dry. After which my legs were massaged with a cream for around 30 mins, followed by a Thai acupressure massage. The therapist used a tool to acupressure underneath my feet. It felt really relaxing & i actually wanted to go to sleep but i struggled & managed to keep my self-awake, so that i could see the whole procedure & mention all info in this post.

After the massage my legs were wrapped in a towel. Finally there was a stretching session for legs, back, hands and neck. This part mainly consisted of a lot of different stretching styles. I could actually hear crackling sound from my back & could feel all the stiffness & tension relived.

The complete massage session lasted for around 60 mins And at the end of the massage i was served some hot ginger tea with fruits.
